Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (C-PTSD)

2016-07-19 by Object of Contempt

I have been diagnosed with PTSD. I suspect Complex-PTSD is a little more accurate, though. Many people have heard of PTSD but have never heard of C-PTSD. It is one of the possible outcomes of enduring long-term abuse. If you are a man who has lived through long-term abuse of any kind, even if (especially if) it was intermittent, please check out the links below.

The article I want to share today provides an excellent description of C-PTSD, and gives basic information to distinguish it from PTSD. It also explains how it feels to have C-PTSD, and other information usually left out of this type of article.

I’m actually re-blogging a re-blogged article. The original from OutOfTheFog is very good, but the re-blogged version at the AfterNarcissisticAbuse blog has links added in that make it easier to investigate further. As far as I know, all the links go to other OutOfTheFog pages.

Please be sure to also visit and see some of the extensive information they have there.

There is also a sister website called OutOfTheStorm. This is specifically there to help direct people with C-PTSD to information and resources. You can find them
